Lehi's annual All Horse Parade is rooted in the rodeos and celebrations of the past. In the early Lehi celebrations, usually held on the Fourth or Twenty-fourth of July, there were parades, ball games and sometimes a rodeo.
When there was a rodeo, there was often a parade of the competitors through town, partly to attract a crowd to the rodeo itself.

This tradition eventually was incorporated into the Round-Up as the annual Thursday afternoon All Horse Parade. This year the parade is on Thursday, June 28th.
It begins at 6:00 p.m. at Wines Park and will end at the Rodeo Grounds.
Lehi's is one of the largest all horse parades in the state and attracts riders from all over the region. It is a unique experience to see all the riding groups and individuals make their way down the parade route to the rodeo grounds.
Peggy Lewis is in charge of the Stock Parade and be contacted @ 801-768-9747. She would like to invite riding groups, horse drawn outfits, and there is an open invitation extended to any individuals who would like to participate in the parade.

Some participants go to great lengths to prepare for the parade. They prepare elaborate costumes and even dress their horse or pony up. Others just make sure their horse and gear are clean, and then ride down the street in their regular dress.
Over the years people dressed as Mountain Men, Native Americans and Knights have participated. Many riding groups also perform during the parade. These groups, usually commanded by a whistle, execute elaborate routines as they ride down the parade route.
The vast majority of the participants ride horses, but there are also donkeys, mules, ponies and miniature horses. Sometimes, there is an assortment of racing chariots and several different types of wagons.

Awards are also given to the different riding groups. Expect to see the All Horse Parade continue well into the future as young parade viewers vow that someday they too will ride down the street on their favorite horse and wave to the crowds.
